1. Seth1 Wells #2246 was born 19 April 1838. Individual flags: Rlfsn. Seth died 8 February 1912 at age 73.

He married Marietta Ruliffson 7 November 1866. (Marietta Ruliffson #2241.) Marietta was born 28 August 1836 in Schoharie Co, NY. She was the daughter of Harmon Ruliffson [2] and Susannah Wellman. When Marietta was age unknown and Seth Wells was age unknown they became the parents of Josephine Wells date unknown. When Marietta was age unknown and Seth Wells was age unknown they became the parents of William Wells date unknown. When Marietta was age unknown and Seth Wells was age unknown they became the parents of Marion Wells date unknown. When Marietta was age unknown and Seth Wells was age unknown they became the parents of Myra Wells date unknown. When Marietta was age 31 and Seth Wells was age 29 they became the parents of William Washington Wells 12 March 1868 in Henrietta, Monroe Co, NY. Marietta died 21 August 1910 at age 73.

When Seth was age 29 and Marietta Ruliffson was age 31 they became the parents of William Washington Wells 12 March 1868 in Henrietta, Monroe Co, NY. He enlisted as a private on July 31, 1862, in Company C. 108th Reg., N.Y. Volunteers. He was in the Battle of Antietam and was promoted to Corporal. He was in the battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, and Gettysburg, where he was wounded on July 3 in the 3rd battle. He was taken to a hospital in Baltimore, where he spent about three months. After his marriage he settled on a farm in Henrietta, N.Y. for a few years. Then he went to Minn. about 1870, where he farmed for about four years. From there to Tennessee for a year. The rest of his life was spent on the farm at Garbutt where he was born. His father had purchased this land in 1823. Seth bought off the other heirs. He left the farm to his son, William, and it is now owned by his grand-daughter and her husband, and is worked by their son, John Minster. WellsLR, p 36.
