1. John1 Howell #1363 was born before 25 December 1875, the first event for which there is a recorded date. Individual flags: Rlfsn. John died date unknown at age unknown.

He married Amelia Rulifson 25 December 1875 in Sauvies Island, Multnomah Co, OR. (Amelia Rulifson #1362.) Amelia was born 3 March 1855. She was the daughter of Bangs Penny Rulifson and Sarah Calpurnia Glen. When Amelia was age unknown and John Howell was age unknown they became the parents of Raymond Howell date unknown. When Amelia was age 21 and John Howell was age unknown they became the parents of Mabel Howell February 1877. Amelia died 18 September 1907 at age 52.

When John was age unknown and Amelia Rulifson was age unknown they became the parents of Raymond Howell date unknown. When John was age unknown and Amelia Rulifson was age 21 they became the parents of Mabel Howell February 1877. John Howell and Amelia Rulifson had two or three sons. Mabel Howell Lanpher is believed to be their eldest child. One of their sons married Rose Shafer and had three daughters: Bess Mabel, and Marjory. Sauvies Island lies at the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. From page 1 of the Oregonian, July 23, 1967, with picture, "From the edge of ruin, this [Bybee-Howell Manor] classic specimen of pre-Civil War architecture was rescued by the Oregon Historical Society and scores of volunteers. The Bybee-Howell manor, at the southwest end of Sauvie Island, is now open to visitors. It was built in 1856."
