He married Mary Magdalene Gonser circa 1797. (Mary Magdalene Gonser #408.) Mary was born 4 November 1780 in Centre Co, PA. She was the daughter of Henry Gonser and Elizabeth [ Gonser ]. Her body was interred date unknown in New Bedford, Holmes Co, OH [?]. When Mary was age 19 and Nicholas Row was age 27 they became the parents of Elizabeth Row [1] 1 May 1800 in Centre Co, PA. When Mary was age 21 and Nicholas Row was age 30 they became the parents of Lewis Row [1] 18 October 1802 in Centre Co, PA. When Mary was age 22 and Nicholas Row was age 31 they became the parents of Mary Row 1803 in Centre Co, PA. When Mary was age 23 and Nicholas Row was age 32 they became the parents of Jacob Row [1] 27 October 1804 in Centre Co, PA. When Mary was age 26 and Nicholas Row was age 34 they became the parents of Catherine Row [2] 26 January 1807 in Centre Co, PA. When Mary was age 30 and Nicholas Row was age 38 they became the parents of David Row 10 March 1811 in German Township, Holmes Co, OH [?]. When Mary was age 32 and Nicholas Row was age 40 they became the parents of John Row [2] 5 February 1813 in German Township, Holmes Co, OH [?]. When Mary was age 33 and Nicholas Row was age 42 they became the parents of Susannah Row 6 October 1814 in German Township, Holmes Co, OH [?]. Mary died 27 January 1838 in Holmes Co, OH, at age 57.

When Nicholas was age 32 and Mary Magdalene Gonser was age 23 they became the parents of Jacob Row [1] 27 October 1804 in Centre Co, PA. When Nicholas was age 34 and Mary Magdalene Gonser was age 26 they became the parents of Catherine Row [2] 26 January 1807 in Centre Co, PA. When Nicholas was age 38 and Mary Magdalene Gonser was age 30 they became the parents of David Row 10 March 1811 in German Township, Holmes Co, OH [?]. When Nicholas was age 40 and Mary Magdalene Gonser was age 32 they became the parents of John Row [2] 5 February 1813 in German Township, Holmes Co, OH [?]. When Nicholas was age 42 and Mary Magdalene Gonser was age 33 they became the parents of Susannah Row 6 October 1814 in German Township, Holmes Co, OH [?]. Buried: Probably in the now unmarked space beside his wife in the first Lutheran cemetery, New Bedford, Holmes Co, OH. The 1800 C. Haines Twp., Northumberland Co. (later that year Haines Twp. became part of Centre Co.) lists Geo., Nicholas, John & Peter Row. Nicholas is in the age 26 under 45 age group. From 1820 through Jan. 26, 1807, Nicholas and Magdalena Raugh are found in the Penns Creek Lutheran Church records (Penn Hall, Centre Co.) Nicholas Rau (wife's name not given) had a dau. bapt. in the Aaronsburg Lutheran Church in 1800 and in 1806 Nicholas & Magdalena sponsored one of Geo. & Magdalena's infants bapt. in the Aaronsburg church. Both on these churches were on the same circuit. WhiteWR1, p 22. Nicholas and Molly left Centre Co, PA in 1807 and moved to German Township, Coshocton Co, OH. Information collected by Zelphia Rowe Irving from Holmes Co, OH marriage records, Wm C Row's records, Penns Creek Church Records, Aaronsburg Church records, and Loop Church, Haines Twp, Centre Co, PA records. Penns Creek Church Records show an Anna Maria Row b 26 Jan 1807, a possible twin to Catherine Row b 26 Jan 1807. Nicholas Row (Rau) and his wife Molly (Gonser) moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio between 1807 and 1811. They had lived in Northumberland County, which was divided into several counties later, in what is now Center Co. Their daughter Catherine was born in Penn. and David in Holmes Co, Ohio in 1811. Holmes Co and Coshocton Co were also all Coshocton at one time. Nicholas dies in 1814 but Molly's (Gonser) family lived in Holmes Co, Ohio already. She would have needed lots of help. IrvingZA notes.
