In 1845 he moved with his family to Boone county, Illinois, and settled on a farm in the township of Bonus. Here they lived until 1884 when they moved to Belvidere, Boone county, Ill. His wife dies in 1905, and he died Dec. 9, 1913. Ralph Rulifson became a wealthy farmer, and was widely known, and held in high estimation by his friends. He was a man of high character and integrity, and his genial personality made him always a welcome visitor and associate. He was especially the friend of children who delighted to visit in his home, where he would frequently sing to them and entertain them with stories.
